It was possible to install IPA packages through third-party utilities like iMazing before, but this method couldn’t be considered official. Now, it seems like everything has changed.
This new feature is confirmed by specialized resources. Simply transfer a .ipa file to the device using AirDrop. The system won’t display any dialog boxes, and the application will appear in the list of installed ones. However, there’s one caveat – the IPA file must be extracted by the user, meaning it should be under the same Apple ID used for installation and execution. This system can be useful, for instance, for users of banking apps removed from the App Store.
Apple has not commented on this new feature yet. It’s possible that they are preparing to provide the ability to install applications bypassing the official store, as demanded by many countries.
