Have you ever been slow to leave your house looking for your keys, or have you spent several minutes trying to remember where you left your purse or briefcase? These types of situations are what the latest product that Apple launched on the market this Tuesday seeks to address.
The technology company presented from Apple Park, the headquarters of the company, the first products of this year. Among the announcements is a new version of the iPad Pro and iMac as well as the AirTag.
The latter is a small accessory, made of polished stainless steel that allows an object to be traced. The device works through the ‘Find My’ application, previously known because it allows you to find where the company’s equipment is located, such as the iPhone or Airpods.
The equipment can be attached to keys, a purse, a suitcase, or different types of items. The user can differentiate the name of the item from his phone to make his search easier, in case of loss.
“With its design, unparalleled search experience, and built-in privacy and security features, AirTag will provide customers with another way to harness the power of Apple’s ecosystem and enhance the versatility of the iPhone,” said Kaiann Drance, vice president of worldwide marketing, iPhone products.
The AirTag is water and dust resistant with an IP67 protection level, it has a speaker that plays sounds to help locate it. This artifact can be personalized for free with the engraving of a text or 31 different emojis.
These devices have the option, in the event that it is out of the phone’s Bluetooth range, with the ‘Find my’ network service, which facilitates location.
With this launch, Apple enters the market for this type of equipment, which has already been launched previously by Samsung and Tile Inc.
The company announced that the individual price of the AirTag is US $29, but that it is possible to buy packages of four for the US $99. It is worth clarifying that the price with which this technology will reach the Colombian market is not yet known, but the device will be available from April 30 in the United States.
